Artist Bio
Shereene Fogenay Wolford is a visual artist whose work explores the intersections of dreams, memory, and cultural identity. Working primarily in watercolor, water-soluble pencil, and acrylic, she creates layered and expressive pieces that reflect both the vibrancy and complexity of lived experience.
Her paintings are deeply inspired by her Guyanese heritage, often drawing on ancestral stories, traditions, and symbolism to honor and preserve cultural memory. Equally central to her practice is the portrayal of people of color—their expressions, resilience, and beauty—captured with a sensitivity that speaks to shared humanity and strength.
Through her art, Shereene seeks to bridge the dream world with the real, offering viewers a glimpse into the fluid spaces where imagination and identity meet.
